Mohammed S. A . Microbial Interactions and Cancer Prognosis: A Review of The Role of Bacteria in Tumor Progression
Main Article Content
Abstract
Research into how germs and cancer influence each other has rapidly become one of todays most exciting topics in cancer science. In this work, we map out the many ways the body s microbe communities shape cancer results, zeroing in on key bacteria linked to the start, spread, and treatment of tumors. Powerful new tools like metagenomics and 16S rRNA sequencing now show that an unbalanced microbiome can weaken immunity, fuel long-lasting inflammation, and push metabolism down risky paths that favor tumors. Advanced microbe fingerprints even appear to serve as early warning signs for some cancers, guide prognosis, and reveal which therapies may or may not work. Because of this promise, strategies like adding helpful probiotics or performing fecal transplants are moving to the forefront of bespoke cancer care. Yet real-world use remains hampered by the tangled nature of microbial networks, huge differences from one patient to the next, and the hard job of turning lab results into routine clinic tools. This review therefore calls for open teamwork across fields so we can build, test, and roll out safe, effective microbiome-based cancer solutions.
