Availability of the requirements of the ISO14001 environmental management system specification using the checklist / field study in the Mosul Municipality Directorate

Abstract
The current study aims to identify the availability of the requirements of the environmental management system( ISO14001:2015) and by using the checklist that was applied in the Directorate of Mosul Municipality in Nineveh Governorate. The problem was represented by a set of questions، the most important of which is what is the level of availability of the terms and requirements of the international standard (ISO14001: 2015) in the researched field، and the checklist was adopted to test the results of the study. The study concluded that there is a gap between the reality and the requirements of the specification in the Directorate of the Municipality of Mosul، with a percentage of (63.1%)، which means that the administrative practices do not comply with the environmental management system in accordance with international requirements. The terms of the standard (ISO14001:2015) in the Directorate of the Municipality of Mosul، and this is shown through the gaps obtained from the results of the analysis of the checklist that were used in this study. Confirms that most of the provisions are not implemented and not documented.
Among the most prominent proposals made by the researcher in the study، is to conduct continuous improvement processes، and make this a context for the work of the Mosul Municipality Directorate، because there is a severe weakness in the field investigated in the application of the requirements of continuous improvement
