Challenges Facing Postgraduate Studies in Iraqi Universities

Abstract

There is hardly any doubt about the fact that the reality of postgraduate studies in Iraq is suffering from many serious problems, which may represent a warning sign of serious harmful scientific consequences in the future. The reality that must be understood by all is that the future of any country's development depends on the success or failure of this sector of the higher education (i.e, scientific research), because it provides the specialized and academic capacities necessary to build the country, and the achievements of
researches and scientific innovations that are employed in the process of technological development in various fields. For that reason, any complacency in the reform and development of this sector will greatly damage the march of development and construction in any country, and Iraq is not an exception.
